Expanding Law- and Policy-Relevant Discourse Within Special Education Research

The field of special education stems from the efforts parents, adults and children with disabilities, invested policymakers, other civil rights advocates within legal policy forums. Yet, over time, as intervention- scientific-based research were moved to forefront, focus on how practices are shaped by law siloed academic discourse in journals. To better understand use analysis a methodology journals, authors systematically analyzed submission criteria for top-10 U.S. -based Stemming these findings, this article argues why it may be necessary consider expanding include more peer-reviewed journals predominant disability policy, an understanding shape personal lives students disabilities their families remains pertinent.
